Last week, we wrote about Australian footwear brand Andrea and Joen. The Surface to Air Buckle Sandals in the last post reminded me of Tristan Blair; yet another spectacular footwear designer from Australia! It must be something about all that sunshine...
Surface to Air is a multidimensional company that works in fashion, art, communication, film and publishing. They are involved in so many amazing things - but are likely best known for their clothing label. The Spring/Summer collection - now available online - is a modern take on the classics of the past.
Keller is a "no fuss" clothing label based in Brooklyn. Each season, designer Kelly Clark offers a small selection of footwear that perfectly compliments her collection. The easy to wear oxfords (with wonderful cut-out detail) and lace up boots (with a vintage paper-boy look) are the type of shoes you want to wear every day. Perfect with jeans but also great for adding a bit of a masculine edge to feminine dresses.
Looking at Alexi Freeman's work, you would never guess that this accomplished Australian based designer has no formal fashion training. His work is minimal and elegant - made for a woman who is effortlessly confident. The delightful Freeman took some time to answer our questions.
While searching for the perfect pair of sandals for the summer, I came across Australian footwear label Andrea and Joen. They've got quite a few sandals I love, but I am also drawn to some of their spectacular heels. Nothing says confidence like 5" heeled cut-out leather ankle boots!
Remember when Obey used to be a graphic t-shirt company? Well...they've come a long way! There is still a strong focus on graphics, but they're now offering a full cut and sew collection, of which I'm coveting far too many items. I'm not sure when the transition happened (probably ages ago), but I definitely like it!
Taking a break from fashion... Le Love - a blog dedicated to "romantic, sweet, lovey dovey, sexy and heart fluttering images" - is my new favourite bookmark.
