Brother and sister team Jamil and Alia Juma have released yet another spectacular collection under their label JUMA. Fall/Winter 2009 is sleek and modern, with long clean lines. A beautiful printed silk pops amongst a range of blue, grey and black. And those drop crotch pants that JUMA is so well known for? JUMA continues to push boundaries with an even lower silhouette this season.
Despite a move to Berlin, I still continue to watch Canadian labels closely. The latest to catch my eye is Label. Designers Shawna Robinson and Natalie Sydoruk are committed to using organic, renewable or reclaimed fabrics whenever possible. But Label is far from many of it's eco-friendly fashion counterparts. These are clothes that are modern and urban.
I love 80%20. I loved them back when the first season (2005!) consisted of canvas slip ons. And I still love them today, with a collection that is sexy and sassy and all grown up.
Australian designer Alexi Freeman's latest collection is one of those rare gems that you'd be happy to incorporate each and every piece into your own wardrobe. As always, Freeman creates a line of clothing that is timeless - focusing on cuts that are fashion forward but transcend trends.
Indonesia / Paris based label Rebeldnce has just updated their website to better showcase their previous three collections. I really love the mix of laid back comfort and edgy detailing (like the relaxed fit jodhpurs and the structured shouldered jacket).
Tomorrow I am moving to Berlin! I'm arriving just in time to catch the end of Berlin Fashion Week and Bread and Butter. Very exciting! Posting will likely continue to be slow while I get situated, but I'm looking forward to getting back into it. There are so many amazing Fall/Winter '09 collections I'm dying to post about!
