I used to have a slight obsession with Irregular Choice when they first popped onto the scene, and still to this day I cannot part with a few pairs. But in recent years, their designs started to feel too out there for me. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the crazy had been toned down a bit in the Fall/Winter catalog and I have now developed an odd attraction to the What an Angel wedges.
Walking along Oderberger Straße (Berlin) a couple of weekends ago (on the way to my new favourite Sunday activity - Bear Pit Karaoke in Mauerpark!!), I noticed that the space once home to potipoti is now occupied by another designer. Turns out - this is actually good news. potipoti is relocating to bigger, more central space at Rosenthaler Straße 66, with an official store opening party tonight. The new boutique will also stock La Casita de Wendy, Beyond the Valley, El Delgado Buil, Martin Lamothe and Cecilia Sörensen!
I haven't worn a graphic t-shirt in about 10 years. So, I surprised myself recently when I fell in love with the beautifully illustrated t-shirts from Adieu. This morning, I browsed onto their blog for news of new styles, only to find out that the SS'10 collection is so much more than just t-shirts! So exciting!!
I tend to shy away from prints - opting instead for solids and texture. But things may change after seeing Nadinoo's sweet, whimsical, print-filled Fall/Winter '09 collection.
Canadian based mono is a succession of capsule collections and projects that explore the spaces between art, craft, design and fashion. The (pictured) series "Shard" - is a collection inspired by the collision of twilight and night.
Despite working in fashion and looking at clothes all day long, I always gravitate towards comfortable, wearable designs for my own wardrobe. So it comes as no surprise that I am drawn to labels like Indonesian-based rebeldnce. SS'10, a collection that truly melds comfort and fashion, is presented in an array of greys, lemons, and an amazing lace print that I cannot wait to get my hands on.
