Designer Interview: Society for Rational Dress

Corrine Grassini named her label Society for Rational Dress after a group of women who, at the end of the 19th century, set out to reform restrictive Victorian era fashion. They wanted women to have freedom in what they worn. Grassini encapsulates that same spirit in her collection today, with a line of clothing that doesn’t subscribe to current trends. She makes clothes that a woman wants to wear; tailored to truly suit a woman’s form, sensual without being overtly sexual, and always with a hint of contrast between hard and soft (like the mix of leather and silk).

Designer Interview: Alter & Kiss

ALTER & KISS was the leading Central European fashion house that served the royals in the 19th century. It was founded in 1829 by Antal Alter from Vienna, and specialized in exquisite tailor-made gowns for the high society. The brand was revived in 2009 by Central St. Martins graduates Gabor Fabricius and Mei Mei Ding. Every season, ALTER & KISS invites young international designers from top fashion schools across Europe to to design for the collection. The SS 2010 collection was designed by London College of Fashion graduate Mojzes Dóra.

Designer Interview: c.neeon

c.neeon are so quintessentially Berlin in that they are able to capture the eclectic, adventurous and slightly out-there vibe of this city. Their unique collections, always awash in bold colours and interesting patterns, have won high praise and numerous awards. We're very excited to have both designers - Clara Leskovar and Doreen Schulz - participate in our Designer Interview.

Designer Interview: Elohim by Sabrina Goh

In less than 2 years since Elohim by Sabrina Goh was launched, this Singapore based label has built a cult following all around the world. Deservedly so - each collection represents Goh's unique voice in the fashion world. The clothes are fashion-forward and unique, but always accessible. Designer Interview: Ann Yee

You would never guess looking at Ann Yee SS'10 that this is only the second collection under the designer's namesake label. It's the kind of collection I love, one that can't be described with just one or two adjectives yet each piece works together to create a perfect whole. I can't wait to see what Yee has in store for upcoming seasons.
