Home is where the heart is. No matter where I travel in the world, I continue to keep an eye on Canadian design. Canadian Spotlight is a series where I'll showcase collections from some of my favourite home-grown designers. The first is from the lovely city of Montreal. Valerie Dumaine likes to dig into the past. A master when it comes to mix and match styles, she creates refined and bold garments that are characterized by clean and elegant lines.
I never thought I'd be attracted to biker boots. Never say never. Lately I've been loving some of the feminine interpretations, like this one by Bronx with a chunky 3" heel.
There are many style blogs on the net it's impossible to keep track. I have a handful of favourites that I've been reading since before style blogs were popular (Kingdom of Style, Garbage Dress, Style Bubble and FashionToast) and hadn't added any of the new generation to my bookmark folder until I found The Man Repeller. It is such a witty and entertaining blog written by a woman who refuses to take herself too seriously. Refreshing! If you haven't visited this blog, you must!
