Shorts have always been a completely functional part of my wardrobe, kept solely for days when I'm doing household errands via bike around the city, planting flowers on my rooftop patio, or cleaning house. Strictly utilitarian...until now!

All the pretty dresses
The temperature in Toronto is reaching almost unbearable highs. The best way a girl can combat this awful heat and humidity is to stock up on summer dresses.

Artist Spotlight: Christine Navin
What first attracted me to Christine Navin's photographs was the honesty and rawness of her subjects. I was left intrigued, wishing to have been a fly on the wall for just a few more moments after the photo was snapped. Beautiful and slightly imperfect – Navin's photos evoke a nostalgic longing for those moody days of fading youth.

The House of Viktor & Rolf
During a stopover in London last week, I stumbled on a magical exhibit at the Barbican Art Gallery showcasing the exquisite work of Dutch fashion duo – Viktor & Rolf. As one might guess, the House of Viktor & Rolf is anything but normal. The retrospective is showcased over two floors of the Barbican gallery using a mixture of regular and life-size dolls decked out in perfect replicas of signature pieces from each of their collections since 1992. If you’re going to be in London, England before the 18th of September, do not miss it.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder...
Absence makes the heart grow fonder…at least I hope it does. I’ve been away in South Africa doing a course on Community Managed Micro Finance, and slightly overestimated how much access I’d have to a computer and the internet. All the plans of blogging from Africa failed miserably. But I’m back now, and promise that there is lots of great content on its way.

Summer Footwear
We had a momentary taste of summer yesterday in Toronto and sandals were out in full force. While I love gladiators, I suspect we'll all be very tired of this trend before the summer is over. Luckily, there are lots of variations of the gladiator on the market this season.
