Despite working in fashion and looking at clothes all day long, I always gravitate towards comfortable, wearable designs for my own wardrobe. So it comes as no surprise that I am drawn to labels like Indonesian-based rebeldnce. SS'10, a collection that truly melds comfort and fashion, is presented in an array of greys, lemons, and an amazing lace print that I cannot wait to get my hands on.
The Aussies do it again! This time, my attention has been caught by Sydney based label Es-Trella. Strong tailoring, beautiful draping and bold pops of colour combine to create a collection that is both undeniably feminine and rebellious.
Another Canadian label to get excited about: Noir Bonbon! Their SS'09 collection (pictured above) won me over with styles I would wear day in and day out. If that is a sign of things to come from this young label (just over a year old), then you can expect to hear a lot more about Noir Bonbon.
Summer has most definitely said good-bye in Berlin. But, I will continue to avoid the reality of the impeding winter by wistfully browsing light and breezy collections from the Southern Hemisphere, like this one from Australian label myPetsQuare, created by Vicki Lee and Angelique May-Bennett.
While I'm sure many magazines and fashion bloggers received the same email this morning, I couldn't resist posting about Nogoy. Designer May Nogoy calls her designs "statement belts" and she's right. Amazing belts that undoubtedly become the center piece of any outfit.
