I love the whimsical work of French artist Julie Thevenot for her label Rabbit on the Run: simple relaxed cuts adorned in luxurious silks and lightweight cottons adorned with bold graphic prints.
I stumbled across a new (to me) online store the other day - Need Supply Co. It is hailed by Nylon Magazine as one of the best denim stores in the world, but there is so much more to Need Supply Co. than a jean line-up to die for. Amongst the denim jewels is a healthy dose of well priced street wear designers, like Cheap Monday, Mink Pink and Wood Wood.
In 2006 - when eco-fashion still had the reputation of being shapeless and bland - designer Sonja den Elzen launched an environmentally conscious company that proved fashion forward design and and environmental responsibility could happen under one label. And that label was Thieves.
Continuing on my Berlin kick - another German label that has caught my eye is Anntian. Headed by design duo Anne Hilken and Christian Kurt, Anntian's fabrics are most often hand painted, making each piece unique. While the whimsical designs are enough to make us crazy about this label, as a bonus, the designers insist on local production and use eco-friendly material.
The season would be incomplete if I didn't mention my infatuation with Oak. Oak is my dream store - the stock is perfectly edited and the products are immaculately photographed.
