I've mentioned Portland based designer Lisa Rietz in the past, and my love of her structured yet feminine and wearable designs. Liza has just released photos from her stunning FW'09 collection, and while the lines are still bold, the draping is softer and the colour palette more muted. Beautiful!
There is an exciting energy in the Canadian fashion scene right now, with a lot of incredible new designers surfacing. The latest name to catch my attention is Hidden Spectrum, an art and clothing atelier created by Amy Sky.
I got an email this morning about a new swimwear label. Swimwear is something that I wouldn't normally think about posting on Paper-Doll. Sure, last season a lot of designers played around with swimwear and did some neat things with cut-outs - but to the average girl, most of it was impractical and totally unwearable. I reluctantly followed the link to We are Handsome and I am smitten! Thankfully, not one fancy cut-out to be found. Instead, a series of totally amazing, totally wearable, totally fun one piece suits.
Luscious Leather: Swagga and Soul Spring Summer '10
The perfect leather jacket has been high on my wish list for years now - but I don't usually consider incorporating leather into my wardrobe in other ways. I'm not sure why, since I once owned an amazing black leather skirt that made me feel like a million dollars every time I put it on. Well, new British label Swagga and Soul has got me in a leather loving frenzy. Each of their collections is made entirely of leather - and for SS'10 they deviate (though not completely) from the typical black and use the most divine nude and grey tones. Start saving your pennies ladies - the SS'10 collection will be available to purchase online at the end of January!
