Designer Interview: LABEL

Designers Shawna Robinson and Natalie Sydoruk have been collaborating since Fall 2009 on their their clothing line LABEL. Shawna, a freelance wardrobe stylist, and Natalie, a fashion design graduate and model, set out to reinvent basics. The result? Easy to wear but immediately chic eco-friendly wardrobe staples. Shawna and Natalie, busy designing SS12, took some time to participate in our designer interviews series.

Designer Interview: ULTRA

I was first introduced to ULTRA through my work with LabelGazer - a site dedicated to outstanding eco-friendly fashion. It is not very often that an eco-conscious label comes across my desk that is quite so bold and modern as ULTRA. Another surprising fact about the Malaysian based label? They're new kids on the block - something you'd never assume looking at the strength of their debut collection, pictured here. It was a pleasure to have ULTRA designers Jon and Syahmi participate in our designer interview series.

Designer Interview: Osborn

I've raved about Osborn in the past. Honestly, I could go on for hours with all the reasons I love them (something along the lines of successful social enterprise creating sustainable and positive opportunities in the community that they work in). But, this is a fashion blog after all, and you're probably not here to listen to me nerd out about great business models. So lets talk instead about how AMAZING Osborn shoes are. I'm definitely not alone in my love for these hand made oxfords (and new styles to come!) - because over the past season we've seen heavy hitters like Urban Outfitters and Solestruck pick up the label.

Designer Interview: PushBUTTON

One of the stand out collections for me this year was by Korean based label PushBUTTON. It seems I am not alone in my adoration, judging from their growing international stocklist. It was a pleasure to have designer Seunggun Park participate in our designer interview series.

Summer is just about to bid us an official farewell, but before it does we have one more Designer Interview from the SS'10 season. Despite only launching Quail a few years ago, designer Michelle Nguyen Williams now finds herself with a much-loved label that is sold all over the world, including a specially designed collection for Urban Outfitters.

Designer Interview: H Fredriksson

H Fredriksson, a Swedish designer living in Brooklyn, is quietly helping to change the face of green fashion. Unlike many eco-fashion contemporaries, she doesn't need the "green" label as a selling platform. Her point of view is consistently clean and modern - the clothes are so perfectly designed most customers will make a purchase without knowing the green benefits. We are so happy to have Helena participate in our Designer Database Series.
