Add a blogFrom Sandal to Boot: Surface to Air Fall/Winter 09 Footwear
I raved about the Surface to Air Buckles Sandal earlier this year, and have since been hoping for a winter version. Not only has fall brought us a better than expected Buckle Boot, but a full collection of exquisite styles.
These Stolen Girlfriends Club images have been circulating around the web for a while now, and I'm a bit late on the update due to being overwhelmingly busy with work. But, the collection is too good not to post about. It's as though the designer decided to put everything that's hot right now - strong shoulders, mesh panels, lace, nude shades, pops of neon and zippers - into one collection. We're not complaining!
Eco-friendly clothing is no longer a hard to find specialty. You don't even have to look past the mall doors these days to find a decent selection of organic and sustainable wares. I have loved Valerie Dumaine's designs since the first time I laid eyes on them years ago. But Valerie's AW'09 surpassed even my wildest expectations. It is a collection I'd love to own in full - every piece as spectacular as the one before it. The strong silhouettes, beautiful choices of fabric, and smart touches of colour make it a stand-out collection.
Many of us working in the indie fashion industry are trembling in our boots at the current economic crisis. (Are we all tired of hearing those words yet?) However, as customer shopping habits change, there is space for creativity in the retail world. One example is Studio 5in1. Founded by Norman Rabinovich, 5in1 is a collaborative studio / retail space that is run by eight designers.
