Keller Bio:Keller is a line of clothes and shoes made by Brooklyn-based designer Kelly Clark.
Clark began the line in 2008 to create pieces that were subtle yet effective — an antidote to fashion excess. Hers are clothes to slip on, love, and wear unbothered. Spare without sparing character, they are made to function—then are left alone for the wearer to make her own.
Clark creates each season freestyle: Designs are felt, not over thought, and constructed with care. This process reflects Clark’s training as a multi-format visual artist and designer grounded in the details of construction. Clark attended Temple University’s Tyler School of Art and the Fashion Institute of Technology. After stints as a fine art handler, stylist’s assistant, and assistant designer at NoLita’s Unis, she went on to manage garment development and production at a small Manhattan studio that consults for lines such as Marc by Marc Jacobs, Zero Maria Cornejo, Tommy Hilfiger, and J. Crew.
This immersion in—and love of—the back end of the fashion business spurred the launch of Clark’s own line. As bigger doesn’t always mean better, Clark mindfully limits the size of Keller’s collections. All Keller garments and shoes are American-made using high-quality materials and craftsmanship.
