Sustainable Fashion: Bodkin AW'09
Posted on Aug 14 2009

Eco-friendly clothing is no longer a hard to find specialty. You don't even have to look past the mall doors these days to find a decent selection of organic and sustainable wares. However, the amount of designers fully committed to exploring sustainability is still limited. One of these designers is Brooklyn based Eviana Hartman for Bodkin.
While Hartman's collection is produced locally using environmentally friendly or sustainable fabrics and dyes, she also creates a dialogue about important issues surrounding clothing production and consumption on her blog.
The great thing is - Bodkin is a beautiful label and likely boasts a crowd of supporters that doesn't even realize that it is classified as a "green". The Fall/Winter '09 collection is clean and modern, with architectural seaming, flattering shapes and pops of vivid colour. What more could you ask for?
