Preface: I'm a little late on this post as the event has already passed. But these shoes are too good not to write about....
On June 6th, WORN Journal presented Sol(e)d, an exhibit and live auction fundraiser featuring Keds sneakers customized by 24 Canadian Artists and Fashion Designers. Sadly, I wasn't able to make it to the exhibit, though this is probably for the best as I likely would have been tempted to empty out my bank account for the amazing sneakers by fashion illustrator Danielle Meder.
Danielle used a 1926 Singer Leatherworker machine to create an exquisite web of thread across the bulk of the shoe. Danielle's shoes fetched the second highest bid - and all proceeds were donated to Fashion Cares (ACT).
